- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆2017-11-16, by Pam PalmerSorry to say this place is disappointing since kitchens were taken over last winter. Used to love it. Went with the intention of having breakfast today; sitting at a table for 10 minutes, nobody acknowledged us. At least 6 staff doing nothing behind counter. We left in the end only to be told we should have ordered at counter. Considering there were no notices advising this fact, no menus on tables and only one other couple in the place, we were surprised they didn't think it might be a good idea to let us know! Buck up Birkacre...losing customers
