  I went into the StCatherines furniture shop last week to ask if they were interested in some items of furniture that I would like to donate . I had taken some photographs and showed them to the young man on duty who said that they would be OK and arranged for them to be picked up today 26th July first pick up after lunch. They arrived after 3pm and the drivers said that they did not want them . I complained to the shop who told me that they were not up to standard. When I went into the store the week before I looked at the showroom and in my opinion the furniture I was donating was equally has good as anything I saw in the store . I did think that certain items in store were priced to high though. The question I am asking is are charities getting for too fussy about the items being donated ? I think that plenty of people would have been very glad to have a g plan table or a sold oak sideboard or a three seater settee with a rise and recline chair. It's the last time I will offer any items to St Catherine's. Too many charities are now becoming big businesses rather than charities.
